SPECIAL PRAYERS FOR A DEAR CMT FRIEND
Cabrini Ministry Training had the good fortune to gain Tom Stratman in the summer of 1998 as the new Training Coordinator. He has remained connected with the Cabrini Ministry community ever since in some capacity- as interim program coordinator, board member and faculty. He has led a number of CMT continuing education evenings (he had planned to do our cont. ed in September) to the delight and enrichment of many. Tom has given a great deal of his time and wisdom to sustain our ministry. As of this printing, Tom is in hospice in preparation for ‘going home’. He is at peace and feels the support of our prayers. Please continue to pray for him in these final days knowing that he sends his love to each of you. We love you, too, Tom!

RECRUITMENT IS CRUCIAL!!!
Help us get the word out about our wonderful program by inviting your parishioners and friends to one of our information nights! If20you have questions about any of these events, please call Tom Curran at (206) 760-0583. Also, please invite any interested folks to our annual picnic on Monday, August 11!

ALSO,  YOU are our best recruiting tool, and we need Cabrini graduates to make a 3 minute announcement from the pulpit about our program and then answer questions after Mass.  Thanks to Siegrid and Katie who did announcements at St. Bridget’s parish- they generated a lot of interest in CMT for our fall class.  WE NEED YOU, TOO! WELCOME CABRINI GRADUATES!!

Congratulations to the 24 new Cabrini Ministers (12 from the Seattle class, 12 from Cabrini Español) who joined our community at a joyful celebration at St. James Cathedral on March 27! The Very Rev. Michael Ryan celebrated Mass along with several other priests and deacons, and they blessed both graduating and recommitting ministers in a lovely liturgy.  It was wonderful to see so many folks- several hundred joined us for this great event. We look forward to getting to know our newest Cabrini graduates at a variety of upcoming events!

VAYA CON DIOS, SR. YVETTE MALLOW!

After five years of dedication and commitment to Cabrini Español, Sr. Yvette Mallow, OP is leaving as the Español Coordinator to take on the position of Prioress of her Benedictine community in South Dakota.  Sr. Yvette’s passion for the Hispanic community led her to develop and implement our Cabrini Ministry Training program into a viable and successful program in Spanish.  She will be missed by the Hispanic community she served along with Cabrini Ministry Training staff and board. Our thoughts and prayers go with her, and we wish her every happiness and fulfillment in her new position!

“HAVE A HEART” IS  A HUGE SUCCESS!!

If you were among the 200 guests who attended our second annual fundraising event you know how wonderful it was!!  The dinner was deli-cious, Brian Des Roches was a wonderful MC, Medrardo played beautiful music, and Patty Repikoff  was an incredible key-note speaker. After all the desserts, raffles and pledges were finished Cabrini Ministry Training took in nearly $24,000!  There were a number of Cabrini grad-uates who were unable to attend but contributed so that others could attend. A big THANK YOU to everyone who supported this fundraiser and community building event. Thanks also to the committee who worked tirelessly to make this dinner so successful- especially Mary Fran, Art, Timi, Mary Ellen, Cheryl, Denny. We’re already in the planning stages to have another fundraising dinner, hopefully in February 2009!
